Error Code E CL
Low-side refrigerant cycle leakage — detected by low-side pressure anomaly (refrigerant leak, bad compressor, prolonged door open)
Moderate

How to Fix
- 1
Use LG SVC App Step 1 to confirm E CL. Check if prolonged door opening or bad PCB could explain symptom before assuming sealed system failure.
- 2
Use SVC App Step 2 to monitor high/low side pressure and equalization time. Recovery time over 15 minutes indicates restriction.
- 3
Check equilibrium pressure. Greater than 20 psi = compressor fault; replace compressor. 20 psi or less = refrigerant leaked.
- 4
Begin leak detection on the LOW-PRESSURE side first: check evaporator, suction pipe, and evaporator joints using bubble solution or leak detector.
- 5
If low-pressure side leak found: replace leaking part, the drier, AND the compressor (low-pressure side leaks allow moisture ingress which carbonizes compressor oil).
- 6
If no leak found on low-pressure side, inspect the HIGH-PRESSURE side (condenser, drier, discharge pipe).
- 7
If high-pressure side leak found: replace leaking part and drier. Evacuate and recharge with R-600a (78 g).
- 8
If no leak is detectable, install UV drier for next-visit UV leak tracing.
- 9
After sealed system repair, error clears automatically when freezer reaches 14°F.
